WHEN HOME CHANGES
A six-week counseling cohort for young women navigating a changing relationship with family, belonging, and the meaning of home.
Something about home has changed.
Maybe there was a rupture. Maybe distance made something visible. Maybe becoming yourself is changing your relationship with the people who have known you longest. Maybe you are considering different boundaries or contact. Maybe you are already estranged. Maybe you love your family deeply and simply know that something cannot continue exactly as it has.
You do not need to know what happens next.
Tuesday cohort begins October 20

The Orientation
Pain belongs here. So does agency.
When Home Changes is not organized around deciding whether your family is good or bad, whether you should stay or leave, or whether reconciliation or estrangement is the right outcome.
You do not need to minimize what happened in order to become curious about yourself within it.
There is room here for anger and love. Certainty and ambivalence. Relief and grief. Recognition of what was never yours to carry—and responsibility for what belongs to you now.
You can love someone without giving them access to you.
You can need distance without requiring yourself to hate.
You can remain in relationship and still allow the relationship to change.
You can change your mind.
You can not know yet.
What matters is a willingness to encounter your own experience, and to sit beside women whose experiences and choices may be different from yours.
What We Will Hold Together
Six weeks to stay with what is changing without requiring yourself to know where it ends.
-
I · WHAT I BELIEVED
We begin with what home meant before rushing toward what changed. What did you believe you could count on? What was beautiful? What did belonging require?II · WHAT IS CHANGING
We make room for rupture, gradual realization, uncertainty, and what you know now that you cannot unknow.III · WHAT I AM LOSING
We give language to the visible and invisible grief carried by family change: people, places, rituals, identities, imagined futures, certainty, and versions of ourselves tied to what came before.IV · WHAT IS MINE
We explore responsibility without self-punishment. What was never yours to carry? What belongs to you now? Where does your agency live?V · WHAT REMAINS
Not everything meaningful needs to disappear because a relationship changes. We notice what remains beloved, what belongs to you, and what you want to carry forward.VI · WHERE THE LOVE GOES
We do not manufacture closure. We ask what loving these people revealed about what is sacred to you—and what that love can become now. -
We begin with a somatic practice connected to that week's inquiry. From there, you will have private time with your journal before we move into shared witnessing and conversation.
After hearing one another, we return to the body—not to make what came up disappear, but to notice what relationship stirred and find ourselves again within it.
Then we return to one another.
We make meaning together without requiring resolution, and each evening ends with somatic closure before we leave the room.
Bring your journal. Bring your favorite pen or stationery if you'd like.
There is room to speak and room to listen. Room for silence. Room for contradiction. Room for what you do not yet know.

When Home Changes is designed for young women, approximately 18–25, navigating a meaningful change in their relationship with family, belonging, or home.
You may be considering different boundaries or contact. You may already be estranged. You may have no intention of becoming estranged. You may love your family deeply while knowing something needs to change.
College enrollment is not required.
This group may be especially resonant if you are looking for shared understanding without requiring shared conclusions—and if you are willing to remain curious about yourself while making room for other women to arrive at choices different from your own.
This is a closed counseling cohort rather than a drop-in support group. It is not crisis care, and it is not organized around diagnosing family members or deciding together whether someone should reconcile or estrange.
You do not need certainty to belong here.
Around the Table
Five women. Six weeks. Two hours at a time.
When Home Changes is intentionally small.
Five women will return to the same table each week, allowing enough room for each person's experience to matter and enough continuity for genuine relationship to develop between us.
There will be tea.
Bring your journal. Bring the stationery you love.
We will speak. We will write. We will notice our bodies. We will listen to one another. Sometimes we will sit quietly.
The shared experience gets us to the table. It does not require us to become the same once we're there.
My Role
My role is not to decide what your family should become.
I hold the structure that allows five women with five different families, histories, and possibilities ahead of them to move through this work without needing to reach the same conclusion.
I anchor pace, depth, discernment, responsibility, complexity, relationship, and return.
My role is to help us stay close enough to what is happening for something meaningful to become known—while helping each woman remain connected to herself as it does.
